Course description

“We have to think of pitching as an intriguing invitation to have a conversation.” – Daniel Pink

Do you have good presentation skills but still find it a challenge to sell yourself?  For example, can you convince a committee in five minutes that you should receive that one million euro grant? Can you spark someone’s interest in your research in two minutes at a networking event? Can you quickly, clearly, and confidently answer the question ‘Why should we hire you?’ in a job interview?

Posters and Pitching is a highly practical course that teaches you to develop indispensable professional pitches to help achieve these goals.

Course objectives

  • Inspire and engage instead of bombard with data
  • Express your passion by using your voice and body language
  • Use marketing techniques to express your message -- start from your audience’s needs, define key message, create a loop
  • Speak as if you are describing an image -- use visuals, storytelling, and attention grabbers to make your message concrete
  • Manage Q&A sessions
  • Receive high-quality personal feedback on your pitches

Certificate

Participants must attend all course sessions to receive a certificate.
